State School Orphanage Tour & Lunch in Owatonna - July 18
For sixty years the State School Orphanage served as a temporary home for thousands of children. Many personal stories are associated with this facility. A great luncheon buffet awaits you at Torey’s Restaurant. A visit to the National Farmer’s Bank Historic Landmark and Cota’s Hand Tipped Chocolates will top off this trip. Minnesota State Capitol Tour & Lunch - August 10
Enjoy a tour of the newly renovated State Capitol including an overview of its history and classically styled architecture featuring 23 different types of stone and teh second largest self-supported marble dome in the world. You will also see spectacular murals, historical paintings, original furnishings and more. Following the 45 minutes tour you will have additional time to revisit spaces that interest you. Then the bus will take ou to Key's Cafe in downtown St. Paul for a good home-cooked meal of turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, vegetable, cranberries, bread, beverage and dessert. Lovable Llamas & Quilt Barn Art - August 16
You will love Carlson’s Llama Farm in rural Carver County. 4H students will be on hand to demonstrate how these unique animals are good with both adults and kids. Next enjoy a narrated driving tour of the Carver County Quilt Barns. Lunch at Lola’s Lakehouse Restaurant overlooking Lake Waconia will include soup and salad special of the day.
