Puppet Wagon

Story Walks and Story Times in the Parks

In conjunction with the Heritage Library, this summer we are offering monthly Story Walks and Story Times in the Parks for families to enjoy. Story Walks allow you to read from giant picture book pages at various parks. Story Times start with a traditional story time with your favorite librarians and end with a fun activity lead by our Kamp Kermit staff.

2018 Fall Events

"Who Done It?" Hike

Play Sherlock Holmes by collecting clues and solving the mystery while walking the trails at Ritter Farm Park during the "Who Done It?" Hike. When the end is near and you think you have it solved, you’ll have a chance to guess “who done it.”

Haunted Forest

This annual Haunted Forest event includes a trick-or-treat maze, hayrides, puppet shows, and the haunted forest trail. Over 100 volunteers help with this event. Read more about the Haunted Forest event, just before Halloween.

2019 Winter Events

Ritter Fest

Come out with friends or family to Ritter Fest, a fun winter event. 
Enjoy a winter sleigh ride through the woods. Lakeville SnoTrackers will be available for snowmobile rides and Lakeville Parks & Recreation will provide snowshoes to try.

Youth Ice Fishing Contest

Fish through one of the many holes cut through the ice at the annual Youth Ice Fishing Contest. This free family event is one your child will never forget. Participants should bring their own fishing equipment and bait. Prizes will be awarded.

2019 Spring Events

Easter Egg Scramble & Breakfast

Attend the Easter Egg Scramble & Breakfast to enjoy Easter activities and then an egg-stra special egg hunt through downtown Lakeville businesses! Children must be accompanied by an adult. Pre-registration for adults and children is required.

Free Family Fun Fest

Bring your family and friends to enjoy a night of fun and free activities. The Family Fun Fest offers a wide variety of events including inflatables, children's activities and a popular children's movie on the turf.

2019 Summer Events


Pan-O-Prog Run - 1-Mile & 4-Mile

Run along the beautiful west side of Lake Marion. Pan-O-Prog Run race lengths include a 1-mile and a 4-mile run, and a half-mile Fun Run for kids.

Pan-O-Prog Pickleball Tournament

Register for women's, men's and/or mixed doubles in this two-day tournament in July during Pan-O-Prog.

Pan-O-Prog Beach Bash

Antlers Park hosts the annual Beach Bash for ages 11 to 14. Live DJ, dance, games, and freebies.

Pan-O-Prog Youth Play Day

This event includes live entertainment and a ping pong ball drop.

Family Campout Adventure

Take part in s'mores, games, and activities in a fun family campout setting at Casperson Park.

Youth Shore Fishing Contest

At the annual Youth Shore Fishing Contest, kids are invited to fish away the morning in search of "the big one." Prizes will be awarded.
